The Legend of Zelda Games

While watching our latest video there were some comments about how we are not true Zelda fans for not completing all of the games. We thought it was pretty funny that we were being called out on that, because we didn't feel that the statement that was made was true. If those people don't feel that we are true fans then they have all the right to feel that way, but it's not true.

We decided to list all of the games that we have played and completed collectively as ChrisCrossMedia, just so you all could see which ones we have touched and which ones we have not. It's not because we don't like the games that we didn't play, it was just because we were too young, didn't have the game, or haven't had the time to play them. With no more delay here is the list of Zelda games that we have completed.

The Legend of Zelda - NES/Wii Virtual Console/3DS
A Link to the Past - SNES/Gameboy Advance
Ocarina of Time - N64/Gamecube/Wii Virtual Console/3DS
Oracles of Seasons & Ages - Gameboy Color
The Wind Waker - Gamecube
The Minish Cap - Gameboy Advance
Twilight Princess - Wii
Phantom Hourglass - DS
Spirit Tracks - DS

Well there you have it. Those are all of the Zelda games that we have completed, and the consoles that we have beaten them with. It's not all of the Zelda titles, but we feel that we have conquered quite a bunch. We hope to have them all completed by next year, time permitting of course. So which games have you beat? Please leave your comments down below.

"Where is my golden Wii Remote jacket?"

As we are all aware, this year marked The Legend of Zelda's 25th anniversary in the video game world. And if you don't have a bad memory, you recall that last year marked Mario's 25th anniversary. There were some major differences in the way that Nintendo went out to promote both of these huge icons' celebrations, and it seems that Mario got the better treatment.

Don't get us wrong, we love Mario, but we feel that Zelda should have got some of the same promotions that Mario recieved, and vice versa. Last year when Nintendo was celebrating the 25th anniversary of Mario we saw a limited edition red Wii, the release of one of the most wanted VC titles Super Mario All-Stars (released on a disc), red packaging on all Mario related titles, and a Super Mario History Booklet.

Let me start off by saying that Super Mario All-Stars is the best thing to ever happen to a Mario fan. It is an HD remake of all the NES games, along with levels for us Americans that we never got to play. To this day I don't know why Nintendo has not even hinted at doing a remake of the original The Legend of Zelda game. I was wishing that Nintendo would come out in the clutch with this celebration and release a dedicated 25th anniversary box set for Zelda. They could have included The Legend of Zelda All-Stars, or something along those lines. But no, they instead just release the soundtrack, which is amazing by the way, with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. It would have been amazing to own a little booklet with all the history of The Legend of Zelda, just like Mario did. I still have faith that one day Nintendo will remake The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and throw it all into a neat package to truly celebrate the birthday of an icon.

Some will argue that Zelda got more with its celebration, and to an extent that is true. But that one saying "quality over quantity" is what trumps all arguments. The Legend of Zelda saw a limited edition 3DS, a golden Wii Remote Motion Plus, the free release of Four Swords, and really that's all that comes from the top of my head. Now there was a symphony soundtrack, but Mario got a soundtrack release of its own, which is why neither of them were mentioned. It would have been so much cooler if we finally got to see the release of the green colored Wii, which we all saw in the Nintendo Revolution days. The green Wii could have came bundled with The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker with New Play Control!, a green Wii Remote Motion Plus, and a green Nunchuk. Is that too much to ask for? We also got a remake of the all time classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the 3DS, but Mario received its Nintendo 64 era remake years ago with the release on the original Nintendo DS.

We know that Mario is Nintendo's mascot, and he gets special treatment and what not, but we just don't think it's fair. It's fine that Mario is the mascot, and it makes perfect sense, but we would just like to see them treated equally. We hope that sometime in the near future we finally see the release of that green colored Wii, the remakes of all the NES/SNES classics, and a proper 25th anniversary collectors box set.

Which is your favorite out of the two, Mario or The Legend of Zelda? Would you like to see "The Legend of Zelda All-Stars"? Should Link be Nintendo's new mascot? Leave your responses down below.

Twilight Princess vs Twilight Princess?

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. My first game for the Wii, and probably my favorite Zelda game to this day. Now before you go on to flame in the comment section below, keep in mind that neither of us have completed Skyward Sword fully, so that statement might change, but as of now it's up there.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was the first ever Zelda game to be simultaneously programmed with two consoles in mind, the Nintendo Gamecube and the Nintendo Revolution. I remember pre-ordering this game on the Gamecube at Gamestop when it was first announced. Never did I expect that this was going to be the longest wait I would ever wait for a game after a pre-order. There were delays, after delays, after delays, but we soon found out why the game was taken so long to hit the store shelves. That Nintendo Revolution that we had heard about years ago, was now called the Nintendo Wii, and Twilight Princess was going to be a game out at launch.

I then did what any Nintendo fanboy at the time would do, and that was to head over to Gamestop to pre-order Twilight Princess for the Nintendo Wii. I remember as if it were yesterday. There I was with a Abraham Lincoln in my hand, eagerly waiting in line to reserve my copy of this long awaited game. The kind gentleman asked me if I would like to reserve the Wii version and still keep my Gamecube reservation, or if I would just like to transfer the previous reservation to the new one. What I would decide next would be the biggest decision in my Zelda related life thus far. I chose to only reserve it for the Nintendo Wii. Could you blame me though?

I have yet to feel like shooting myself in the leg for this decision, and this is why we decided to bring up this topic now during our Zelda Month. While reading on some forums and other blogs we have sort of figured out that the majority of people feel as if the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess is superior to the one on the Wii. The only things that we know are different from the two version are the aspect ratio, mirrored maps and compass directions, and obviously the controls. All of those things seem really minor, and you wouldn't think that those things alone could top one version of the game over the other.

So we leave you all with this question. Which version of Twilight Princess is better, and why? Are we not true Zelda fans if we don't play with a left-handed link? Please leave your answers down below.
