The Rite - TuesDayVD #6

Hello there everyone, and welcome to this week's TuesDayVD! This week isn't as jammed packed with movies as previous weeks, but there is still some quality content that hit the shelves today. As usual I haven't seen any of these movies yet, and I don't feel inclined to watch any other than "The Rite", and that's just because I'm a sucker for scary/gory movies.

If you have already seen any of the movies listed below, then please leave a comment down below and let us know what you thought of them. Also today there was a new poll created that is Pirates of the Caribbean related due to the Pirates Month that were doing on our YouTube channel, so please make sure to give that a look and vote if you are interested.

It seems to me like Hollywood is running out of name ideas for their movies. Every movie but one starts out with the word "the", is that really necessary. I'm sure that most of us could come up with more creative titles. Oh well were not the ones making millions off of these movies. Glad you liked this week's segment, please stay tuned for tomorrow's long over due "Bored N Gaming" segment. I'm Christian, and you've just been ChrisCrossed! Peace!

Justin Bieber Never Say Never - TuesDayVD #5

Hello! How is everyone doing on this beautiful morning? Today is a very boring day for DVD's here in the United States, unless you are a die hard Bieber fan and are still running wild on "Beiber Fever". If you are still running on Bieber Fever than just sit back, relax, and keep reading on. Because "Never Say Never" is probably the biggest DVD release this week, we will unfortunately have to cover that here on TuesDayVD.

Usher and Justin Bieber

I'm sure that most of you by now know who Justin Bieber is, so he doesn't really need much of an introduction. If you don't know much about him I'll just briefly summarize his road to success. From what I have researched he was always into music and played instruments at a very young age. As he grew older videos of him were uploaded to the site we all know and love, YouTube. Eventually people saw him and really liked his stuff and an artist known by the name of Usher signed him onto his label. The rest is now history. He has become the biggest star to ever come from YouTube, and he gives hope to anyone on YouTube that wishes to "make it".

Enough about the man of the hour, or should I say boy of the hour. Let's get on to some of this week's major DVD releases here in the United States.

Blue Valentine
Directed by: Derek Cianfrance
Starring: Ryan Gosling, Michelle Williams, and others.
Released at theaters on: December 29, 2010

No Strings Attached

(WILL BE RELEASED ON DVD ON MAY 13TH)
Justin Bieber: Never Say Never

Directed by: Jon M. Chu

Starring: Justin Bieber, Boyz II Men, Miley Cyrus, and others.
Released at theaters on: February 11, 2011

TuesDayVD #2

Happy afternoon everyone (well those in the US at least) and welcome to this week's TuesDayVD, where I talk about popular and select films that come out on DVD today and later on in the week.

Unlike last week, this week is full of huge popular movies, so much movies that I can't fit all of them in one post without boring you to death. Most of the movies that came out this week, actually, all of the movies that came out this week I haven't seen. As you get to know me more you will see that I am REALLY behind on a lot of films.

With that being said I can't say much about the movies being released because I haven't seen them, but if I do I'll be sure to update this blog with summaries or just post them at a later date as a separate post.

And with that, here are the new DVD releases for this week!

Gulliver's Travels
Directed by: Rob Letterman
Starring: Jack Black, Emily Blunt, Jason Segal, and Amanda Peet
Released at theaters on: December 25, 2010

The King's Speech
Directed by: Tom Hooper
Starring: Colin Firth, Geoffrey RushHelena,Bonham Carter, and others.
Released at theaters on: September 6, 2010

Rabbit Hole
Directed by: John Cameron Mitchell
Starring: Nicole Kidman, Aaron Eckhart, and Dianne Wiest
Released at theaters on: December 17, 2010

All of the movies listed above were the most popular DVDs that were released this week. There are a lot of movies that are released weekly, and even daily. Most of these films go under the radar, and that is why I have this next list. The following movies are viewed well by audiences, but just don't get the attention they deserve at the box office. Here are the honorable mentions.

Honorable Mentions

Ip Man 2: Legend Of The Grandmaster
Directed by: Wilson Yip
Starring: Donnie Yen, Sammo Hung, Huang Xiaoming, and others.
Released at theaters on: January 28, 2011

Somewhere
Directed by: Sofia Coppola
Starring: Stephen Dorf, Elle Fanning, Michelle Monaghan, and others.
Released at theaters on: December 22, 2010

The Way Back
Directed by: Peter Weir
Starring: Colin Farrel, Jim Sturgess, Mark Strong, and others.
Released at theaters on: January 21, 2011

Again, those were just a select number of films released on DVD this year. If you would like to see all of them, then just visit your local store and see which ones were released in your area. Thanks for staying tuned in this Tuesday and hope to see you tomorrow for Bored N Gaming.

If you haven't watch our newest video yet, then here it is below.

TuesDayVD #1

Hello there and welcome to ChrisCrossMedia's first installment of TuesDayVD, where we go over the DVD's that are coming out today and later on in the week. Unfortunately today there aren't that many blockbuster movies that hit the shelves, and that is why I will list them in our "Honarable Mentions" section at the end of this post.

Thankfully during this week we will see the release of the greatly anticipated Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, which will be out on DVD this Friday the 15th of April!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is based on the book of the same name, which is the seventh and final installment of the insanely popular Harry Potter franchise. The movie came out later last year on November 19th 2010, and was accepted as a great addition to the movie series. The movie still included the original cast of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and director David Yates.

Now I have yet to read the book and let alone watch the movie. Growing up as a kid I loved the Harry Potter books, but unfortunately I only read up to halfway through the 6th book. As far as the movies are concerned I have only watched the first one, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I don't think the movies are bad, on the contrary I find them really interesting and think they are very well produced, but it's something about me where I feel that the books are always better than the movies. But don't let me discourage you, I still highly recommend that you go out and pick up this movie for yourself and sit down with family and friends to watch it.

Adding to that, I have a real big urge to actually finally sit down and re-read the whole franchise, and to also finally watch all of the movies, including this one and Part 2 that will be out later this year in theaters. Sorcerer's Stone here I come...again!

Honorable Mentions

As I mentioned before, there weren't that many big name movies that came out on DVD today, so that is why they get there "15 seconds of fame" here in this week's "Honorable Mentions".

"Farewell" (Unrated)
Premiered in theaters on July 23, 2010
Released on DVD on April 12, 2011
Starring: Guillaume Canet, Emir Kusturica, Willem Dafoe, and Fred Ward

"Country Strong" (PG-13)
Premiered in theaters on January 7, 2011
Released on DVD on April 12, 2011
Starring: Gwenyth Paltrow, Tim McGraw, Garrett Hedlund, and Leighton Meester

And with all that, this will wrap up the first TuesDayVD. Hope you enjoyed it, and please join in next week for more newly released DVD news!
