Throwback Thursday

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by today for our Throwback Thursday segment. Today we will look back at one of my favorite games of all time, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Time (Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles in the UK). The game is based on the Turtles (Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael) from the 1987 animated series, and it also throws in elements from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze. You will find foot soldiers, stone warriors, mousers, Krang, and others.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Time was a port of the arcade classic, Turtles In Time. In North America the "4" was added to coincide with the TMNT titles before it. There was an unlockable version of the game within the Gamecube title, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Mutant Nightmare.

Also in 2009, during the Turtle's 25th year anniversary, there was a remake of the arcade classic which was released for Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time Re-Shelled.

The SNES version was released in August of 1992, and it differed slightly
with the arcade version which was released in September of 1991. The SNES version added extra levels and bosses at the sacrifice of losing some music from the original arcade version. Also, due to the lack of capabilities, the SNES version only allowed 2 players to play at one time. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Time is regarded as the best TMNT game of all time!

The Turtles start out in the the beautiful city of New York and begin to chase the foot across the city streets, down into the sewers, and then eventually into the Technodrome. In the Technodrome the Turtles encounter Shredder, and are sent into time warp. The Turtles have to fight Shredder's legion of foot soldiers in the past and in the future so they could go back home.

I wouldn't want to ruin the game for yourself if you haven't played it yet, but let's just say that you will be in for the ride of your life. Whether you have never heard of the TMNT, new to the series, or a long time fan, this game is definitely one that you must play. Find your old SNES, purchase the game, if you don't have it already, order some Pizza Hut and get ready to kick some shell! Cowabunga dudes!
